Robert Fralin, John Lugar, Bradley Blum, Eddie Martin, Aaron Ewert and others formed Valley Forward and began contemplating ways that they could improve the Roanoke community.
The Gallop 4 the Greenways was a product of Valley Forward. For the initial 4 years the group worked with sponsors to build the Gallop into Roanoke's premier running event and fundraiser for the Greenways. Now in its 6th year, the event is managed by Roanoke Parks and Recreation with all sponsorhship funds directly benefiting the Greenways.
