As a Neighborhood Month activity, Gallop 4 the Greenways provides an excellent opportunity to experience one of Roanoke's most beautiful greenways while engaging with neighbors from around the Roanoke community.
Quite possibly the most scenic 5k in the area, the Gallop 4 the Greenways course takes runners and walkers on a tour of the Roanoke River Greenway. The race begins at River’s Edge Sports Complex and meanders through Smith and Wasena parks only to circle back around to finish at River’s Edge. Be sure to stick around after the race for all of the post-race festivities. Your entry fee will score you an official Gallop 4 the Greenways race shirt as well as free entry to the post-race party with live music, food and a few tasty adult beverages to quench your thirst after the race.
